# How to Export Your Calendar from Apple Calendar (macOS)

### Excerpt

A step-by-step guide to exporting your calendar data from Apple Calendar on your Mac into an .ICS file, suitable for import into other calendar services.

### Content

If your calendar events are managed within the Apple Calendar application on your macOS device, you can easily export them into a standard .ICS (iCalendar) file format. This file can then be imported into other calendar services, such as Google Calendar.

**Steps to Export from Apple Calendar:**

1. **Open the Calendar Application:**
   - Launch the "Calendar" application on your Mac. You can find it in your Applications folder or via Spotlight search.
2. **Select the Calendar to Export:**
   - In the left sidebar of the Calendar application, you will see a list of your calendars (e.g., "Work," "Personal," or calendars synced from other accounts like Ionos).
   - Click once on the specific calendar you wish to export to select it. If you have multiple calendars, you will need to repeat this process for each one.
3. **Initiate the Export Process:**
   - Go to the top menu bar (next to the Apple logo).
   - Click on **`File`**.
   - Hover over **`Export`**.
   - Then, click **`Export...`** (make sure you choose "Export..." and not "Export Calendars Archive," which creates a different file type).
4. **Name and Save Your File:**
   - A dialogue box will appear, prompting you to save the file.
   - Give your calendar export file a clear name (e.g., `MyWorkCalendar_2025.ics`).
   - Choose a location on your computer where you want to save the `.ics` file (e.g., your "Downloads" folder or Desktop).
   - Click **`Export`** (or `Save`).

Your calendar data will now be saved as an .ICS file on your computer, ready to be imported into another calendar service.
