You can access your Google Workspace email, calendar, files, and other services on your mobile devices. Here are general setup instructions for iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Android.
General Steps for iOS (iPhone/iPad): #
- Open Settings App: Locate and tap the “Settings” app on your iOS device.
- Navigate to Mail/Calendar/Contacts: Scroll down and tap on
Mail. (You can repeat similar steps forCalendarandContactsif you wish to sync them through the native iOS apps, though using the dedicated Gmail/Google Calendar apps is often recommended for the best experience). - Accounts: Tap on
Accounts. - Add Account: Tap on
Add Account. - Select Google: From the list of account types, tap on
Google. - Sign In: You’ll be prompted to sign in. Enter your full Google Workspace email address (e.g.,
yourname@example.com) and tap “Next.” Then enter your password and tap “Next.” - 2-Step Verification (if enabled): If you have 2-Step Verification enabled for your account (which is highly recommended), follow the on-screen prompts to complete the second verification step.
- Choose Services to Sync: After successful sign-in, you’ll see toggles for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and sometimes Notes. Turn ON the services you wish to sync with your iOS device’s native apps.
- Save: Tap

Recommended Google Apps for iOS:
- For the most comprehensive experience and access to all features, it’s highly recommended to download and install the official Google apps from the App Store:
- Gmail: For email.
- Google Calendar: For your calendar.
- Google Drive: For file access and storage.
- Google Chat: For team messaging.
- Google Meet: For video conferencing.
- After installing these apps, open each one and sign in with your Google Workspace email address and password.
General Steps for Android: #
Android devices are deeply integrated with Google services. Adding your Google Workspace account is usually straightforward.
- Open Settings App: Locate and tap the “Settings” app on your Android device. The icon may vary depending on your device manufacturer.
- Navigate to Accounts: Look for a section typically named
Accounts,Users & accounts, orPasswords & accounts. Tap on it. - Add Account: Tap on
Add account(you might need to scroll down). - Select Google: From the list of account types, tap on
Google. - Sign In: You may be asked to confirm your device’s screen lock (PIN, pattern, or fingerprint). Then, enter your full Google Workspace email address (e.g.,
yourname@example.com) and tap “Next.” Enter your password and tap “Next.” - 2-Step Verification (if enabled): If 2-Step Verification is active, complete the second verification step as prompted.
- Agree to Terms: You may need to agree to Google’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Account Added: Once successful, your Google Workspace account will be added to your Android device. Data for Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Drive, etc., will typically start syncing automatically with the respective Google apps on your device (Gmail app, Google Calendar app, Google Drive app, etc.). These apps are usually pre-installed on Android devices or can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
- Check Sync Settings (Optional): Within
Settings > Accounts > [Your Google Workspace Account] > Account sync, you can usually see which services are syncing and toggle them if needed, though default settings are generally fine.
After setup, ensure you open the individual Google apps (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Chat, Meet) and select your Google Workspace account if you have multiple Google accounts on your device to access your work-related information.
